In the last thirty years, the standard of living has improved dramatically in China as a result of rapid social and economic development. At the same time, however, poverty has become increasingly difficult to eliminate. This problem has been the source of much international academic study of anti-poverty theories and policies. The PSARC is devoted to the study of theory and policy in the areas of poverty and social assistance. It also focuses on the analysis of international anti-poverty social policies, in order to provide reference points for China in establishing its own policies.
